How to reach Barshaini-

The starting point of Kheerganga trek is from Barshaini. So you’ve to reach Barshaini first.

If you have your own vehicle, you can directly reach there without any trouble. But if you are taking a bus or train to reach there, then there are several routes. You can take any bus on the Delhi-Chandigarh-Manali route and get down at Bhuntar, which is a connecting bus stop. From Bhuntar, hire a taxi or get on a local bus for Barshani, which is the starting point of your destination Kheerganga.

Delhi to Bhuntar distance- 490kms

Time- 10-12 hours

Bhuntar to Barshaini- 50-70km

Time- 2-3 hours

Barshaini to Kheerganga- 8-10kms

Time (trekking)- 5-7 hours

When is the best time to visit Kheerganga?

Everyone wants to travel to his/her dream destination in the best time of year. If you’re concerned about when you should plan your trip to Kheerganga, as for the best time of year it depends on you and what kind of travel you prefer. Because trekking to Kheerganga in all seasons is best.

Winter season- Any day between November to February is considerably colder and you may even get snowfall. Temperatures will be between 5 degrees Celsius to 20 degrees Celsius.

Shoulder season– The months from March to mid May are a great time to do the Kheerganga trek. Tourist numbers are medium this time and temperatures will be between 10 degree Celsius to 30 degree Celsius.

Summer season-  Mid May to July is a wonderful time to visit Himachal as all cafes and adventure sports are in full swing and the weather remains pleasant. A maximum number of tourists visit in these 3 months. And temperatures remain somewhere between 15 degrees Celsius to 35 degrees Celsius.

Mansoon season- A mountain lover in you will be happy as never to witness the rainfall of Himachal between July to September. A good number of tourists can be seen in Kheerganga during this season.
