Rivera was missing from 5 days and search operations were in place to found her. After 5 days of tireless effort, her body was discovered. The singer disappeared on Lake Piru, where her son, Josey, was found alone on 8th July. He was found on a boat they had rented, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said. The Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a statement that the body was Rivera’s.

They grieved that ‘it is such a terrible tragedy.’ Moreover, they said they ‘are forever grateful for the indelible contribution she made to ‘Glee,’ from the first episode to the last’.
