Black summer is rumored to be back on Netflix for another installment of eight episodes. It was a sleeper hit for Netflix but what should you expect from black summer season 2. The zombie thriller series is produced by John Hyams and Karl Schaefer.
Netflix takes at least two months to release the show before announcing it on social accounts. For the Black summer season 2 everything was kept on hold till October 2019.
In 2019, it has been officially announced by Netflix that black summer will be returning for season 2. Jaime King also confirmed the production for the show has begun and it’s getting a second season

Filming of black summer season 2 is set to begin in 2020. The filming of the show is going to begin in Calgary, Canada and scheduled to start on January 6th, 2020 and conclude on February 4th, 2020.
The filming location was confirmed by Karl Schaefer in late November.
“We’ll be shooting in Calgary again” Hyams will serve a single show runner however it is clear at what capacity he will remain involved.

What will be the expected release date for Black Summer season 2?
Firstly, opinion is divided on whether the production of season 2 should start or not. The final show where the father and daughter reunited gave us some satisfying feelings. There is room for more shows especially when solid plans are made to link the project with Z-Nation. Some viewers are expecting more zombie thriller while some prefer Z-nation that came before it. Filming of the first season began in July 2018 and was concluded at the end of September. It has been said black season 2 will air in April 2020.
