The lead role Sherlock will be played by Benedict Cumberbatch who has played the role in all previous seasons. Along with Sherlock, Watson is another important character expected to be played by Martin Freeman. It is also expected that Watson will be played by Freeman as usual.

At the finale of the season 4, we saw Sherlock’s sister Eurus Holmes played by Sian Brooke, who Sherlock himself did not remember existed. According to her latest interview, Sian Brooke is eager to make a comeback. Let’s hope we see her in Sherlock Season 5 and see where she will lead the plot.
Sherlock Season 5 Release Date: When will it land?
As the show is in its earlier times, no official date has been announced or set officially. But based on the previous records, it will take at least a year to complete planning, casting, filming, editing, and finally releasing the show.
We expect Sherlock Season 5 to make its way in 2022 or 2023. It may look like a long wait as the last season was released in 2017.
