The first season of Tom Hardy and Steven Knight’s offbeat period drama Taboo was aired on January 07, 2017, in the United Kingdom on BBC One. In the United States, the series was officially aired on January 10, 2017.
“I’m trying to write it as quickly as I can,” Taboo series creator said in mid-2017. Steve Knight further said,”I would say we would hope to be shooting it… early next year”.

According to various news sources, Taboo Season 2 will be aired in late 2020. Another reason for it is that the writing on the new series was “almost” finished in 2019. But the filming was not expected until early 2020.
