The Last Kingdom season 4 is all set to land on TV giant the streamer Netflix in April 2020. After winning the hearts of millions of subscribers and viewers, the show has widely acclaimed as a success for Netflix.

Originally produced by BBC America, The Last Kingdom is actually based on the book of author Bernard Cornwell – The Saxon Stories. The show is co-produced by Netflix.  Written by Martha Hillier (Vera, Versailles) with Gareth Neame serving as an executive producer, the show has completed its production phase and is all set to land on Netflix in April 2020.

The Last Kingdom Season 4 Release Date: When will it land on Netflix?

It has confirmed that season four will release on 26th April 2020 on Netflix. With a Tweet from the official page of the show, the renewal of the show was confirmed back in 2018. Then Netflix landed at the opportunity and announced in 2019 that they had started working on the final 10 episodes of the series. Though release dates face many rumors, this confirmation by the Netflix ended all the rumors.

The Storyline of the Show

The Last Kingdom as described earlier is based on The Saxon Stories by author Bernard Cornwell, the storyline of the show based on the themes of revenge, love, betrayal, and ancient creed of 9th century AD.

The protagonist of the series isUhtred son of Uhtred, a Saxon boy who’s brought up by Danes after they capture him. This boy later betrays and this betrayal makes The Danes believe that he has murdered his adoptive father, the Danish warlord Ragnar the Elder.

The story depicts different events in the novel.

The Last Kingdom Season 4 Cast: Who will return?

Alexander Dreymon is set to return as Uhtred of Bebbanburg and because of the alliance between the scattered kingdoms, he will return with the purpose of challenging uncle Aelfric, played by Joseph Millson.

To offer a hand to the both, Ian Hart (Father Beocca) along with Toby Regbo (Aethelred), Emily Cox (Brida), Timothy Innes (Kind Edward), Millie Brady (Aethelflaed), Eliza Butterworth (Aelswith), Mark Rowley (Finan), Magnus Bruun (Cnut) and Jeppe Beck Laursen (Haesten) will join the cast for season 4.

With behind the scenes images floating all over the internet, there is no trailer or teaser of the season yet. We expect it to land two or three weeks before the original release date.
